Functional design

The sharpener incorporates a lightweight polymer body, a wide grip ensuring steady operation, a non-slip base, a knurled knob for smooth sharpening angle adjustment and 3 integrated V-shaped abrasive surfaces.
Smooth sharpening angle adjustments

Choosing the right sharpening angle is the key factor when it comes to sharpening the blade properly and effectively. THE EDGE pointSHARP is equipped with a simple adjustment system that allows you to change the sharpening angle depending on the type and purpose of your knife. Using the knob, you can smoothly adjust the angle from 14 to 24°.

This allows you to sharpen virtually any type of knife: filleting knives, everyday use folding knives, hunting knives as well as bigger outdoor tools. It’s recommended to adjust the sharpening angle according to the manufacturer's guidelines, however you can adjust it to your own preference.

It is worth remembering that a blade with a bigger sharpening angle is more durable and will stay sharp for a longer time (at the expense of precision) compared to a fine edged knife with a 20° sharpening angle.
Recommended sharpening angles:

14°- 20° – kitchen knives, filleting knives, precision-cutting tools;
20 - 22° – EDC knives, pocket knives;
22 - 24° – big EDC folding knives, hunting knives, outdoor knives, tactical knives, bushcraft knives.

Sharpening zones

THE EDGE pointSHARP is equipped with 3 abrasive surfaces, allowing to quickly sharpen and hone folding knives, kitchen knives, filleting knives, outdoor tools, as well as household scissors, which are usually troublesome to sharpen.
Abrasive surfaces:

coarse V-type tungsten carbide sharpener, for sharpening very dull blades,
fine V-type ceramic sharpener for quick sharpening and final honing,
one-sided ceramic sharpener for sharpening scissors.

Pre-sharpening and honing is done by placing the blade in the sharpening slot, and then swiping from base to tip in one precise motion. Repeat the process until you are satisfied with the results.
